I know this is probably a stupid question, but I was charging my iPhone X when I looked down and noticed that smoke was coming out of it. I immediately unplugged it and turned off the surge protector it was plugged into and took it out. The phone still feels warm but I’m wondering if that’s a cause for concern or if it should be okay to use if I ditch the charger. I’m going to take it to the.. I’ve had my new iphone 16 pro max for less than a week and it literally started smoking while it was charging. The phone started making an alarm and the screen said something about their being moisture in the line.

I plugged my charger in to charge my phone, the charger started smoking. I immediately pulled the charger out. The charging hole on iPhone smells of smoke and the phone won’t turn on nor does it show its charging! Any ideas help please. Already tried hard rest Answered! What I can only say is a “puff of smoke” coming from my 13 ProMax I have a keyboard that holds my phone. the way I sit, the top of the phone is just below eye level. I did a “Hey Siri” to set a reminder and sure enough, a very faint puff of smoke came from my phone. There’s no odor, phone isn’t hot, seems to be working fine.
